What is Hermione:
She was a fictional charecter in Harry Potter series. It’s a Greek name and means: Feminine form of Hermes, a name of uncertain derivation borne by the Greek mythological messenger god. Hermione is borne in Greek legend by the daughter of King Menelaus of Sparta and his wife, Helene of Troy

Hermione is an image gallery that was coded by Javascript, PHP, CSS, HTML. 01.05.2008

Features:
– Hermione isn’t required to set up.
– Hermione doesn’t use any database.
– It reads some IPTC and EXIF data. (This is very important to optimize your site and life. Because many information in database, already can store at EXIF and IPTC metadata informations.)
– It sorts your items according to Alphabetical or upload time

HOW TO INSTALL
1. Open config.php. Edit settings which is required one.
2. Upload program files and your images to a directory. Your images must be placed in directory which you configured at settings.

– You can remove “Copyright” and “Valid” line. “Powered by” line must be placed on Page
– Admin URL: http://yoursite.com/hermione/admin
– .htaccess File (if you can’t upload your items, create a .htaccess file that has following line and upload it to admin/uploadify folder):

Hello, your gallery is one of the best that I’ve found on the internet – thanks for creating it. Only one detail missing – it’s not crawling into subfolder after the first level. Any chance to solve this detail? My site has several subfolders and would be nice to see them all listed. You can check this site at http://nunobrito.eu/experiment Once the “experiment” is finished it should become the main page. Thanks for all.

Thank you for using Hermione and your comment. Yes, Hermione doesn’t list folders after first level. This is very important for many users as much as other specifications that currently added. After latest version had been relased I’ve not found any function to add. This request can be one of new function for next relase. Thank you very much…

For published pages of Hermione (not admin pages), it uses navigation links on tree style at the top of page. We don’t need to add a homepage link.

Great script! Thank you !!! Is it possible once you clicked one thumbnail and greybox start showing the images one by one using the arrows, the visitor to can see all images in this album, not only the images from page 1 or 2 or 3?

Hi Julian, Yes, it is possible to show all images one by one using arrow keys. Method 1: You can increase your images per page value (increase row, column values at config.php) Then all images defined in first page and the javascript can acces them. This method is simple way but it causes to load pages slowly. Method 2: You should define all images for first page with PHP codes. Method 3: We can add a slideshow function to Hermione. Your idea is looking very useful. Thank you.
